Frequently Asked Questions

Q&A with Loren M. Blinde, PhD, managing partner of Writing Power

What can you do for me?

I provide easy, reliable solutions to your organization’s copywriting needs. I have experience writing a broad range of marketing and communications material designed to help organizations meet their goals, from brochures, press releases, web copy, and newsletters to articles, scripts, annual reports, and white papers.

My specialty is audience-centered writing. I write copy designed to appeal to your target market. I also draw on my extensive experience teaching writing to provide copy critiques and business writing consulting/training. To find out more about this service, contact me.

What are your qualifications?

I have been helping people and organizations communicate more effectively in writing for over 15 years. I have completed hundreds of projects for clients in a variety of industries – including healthcare, financial services, education, technology, government, and nonprofit – and I write copy that gets results.

Unlike many copywriters in the marketplace, I bring a strong academic background to the craft. After earning a PhD in English from the University of California, Los Angeles, I worked as a college English professor and a grant writer before launching Writing Power full time in 2008. I specialize in bringing the heart of a message to life with warmth, professionalism, and an audience-centered approach that helps me translate complex material into easy-to-understand content.

When you hire me, you are hiring an expert writing professional. I don’t miss deadlines, I complete assignments according to specifications, and I don’t balk at revision requests. Bottom line: you will be happy with the copy.

How do I hire you?

Just contact me by phone or email to discuss the project you have in mind. After we talk, I will prepare a letter of agreement outlining the project, deadline, and fee as well as other contractual details. Once I receive the signed letter of agreement and deposit, I will begin work.

How much will it cost?

Because no two projects are alike, just contact me for a quote on your specific project. To guarantee your satisfaction, revisions are included in the base price.

How long will the work take?

For each job, we’ll establish a deadline at the outset, so you’ll know exactly when I’ll deliver the completed project to you. I like to have two to three weeks to complete most projects. This allows adequate time for developing concepts, conducting research, interviewing sources, reviewing content, planning, drafting, revisions, and editing.

What if I need the work done in a rush?

Sometimes, a project comes up that needs to be completed right away. If this happens, give me a call to discuss the project and deadline. If I have room in my schedule and can complete the work within the given time frame, I will try to accommodate the request. There is a 25% fee for rush jobs.

I look forward to working with you soon.
